House of Riviera is currently open for both agented and unagented submissions.  We’re on the lookout for commercial fiction that whisks readers away from everyday life, with a unique voice and page-turning storytelling. Please read the submission guidelines below before submitting to us.

Submission Guidelines

  • We’re looking for: romance and women’s fiction. We love stories with seasonal settings; especially Christmas and summer beach reads! 
  • We’re not currently looking for thrillers, crime, science fiction, historical, non-fiction, children’s books, or poetry.
  • We only accept complete manuscripts. Files should be in Word format, with a clear, readable font and adequate spacing. Manuscripts should be sent to submissions@houseofriviera.com as an email attachment. Include the title of the book in the subject line, along with the total word count and genre.
  • In the body text include a synopsis, and also give us some information about yourself: your background, writing experience, how many pets you have (not essential!), etc. We’re investing in you as an author, so we need to be sure we’re right for each other!
  • We understand there are some great writers out there who aren’t sure of the correct way to pitch their work. Here’s an article from our friends over at Penguin Random House that delves into the nuances of ‘pitching’.
  • We’ll be in touch within 8 weeks if your submission has caught our eye. During this period please only contact us if you’ve had an offer from another publisher. If you do not hear from us within 8 weeks please assume your submission was not successful. Although we’d love to, we simply do not have the resources to contact every single author.
